Though English is a
global language and is spoke worldwide, its imperative to learn basic words of
the local language of a country you are to travel or plan on moving to. I moved
to UAE and got comfortable with the fact that English, Hindi and Malayalam was
widely spoken. UAE is an Arabic country. However, it is indeed sad that
majority of expatriates living here do not know how to converse in basic Arabic. In
one way it can be viewed as tolerance of the UAE and its rulers to allow
foreign languages to be dominant and on the other hand it can be viewed as lack
of interest from expatriates.
The latter was the main
reason as to why I indulged in learning basic Arabic words, to start off with.
You could use it when
you are travelling to the UAE, Gcc or any Arab country. These basic words are
easy to learn. Here are the basic 10 you should know.
